Overview
ACCA's CFO Challenge is divided into three phases: Qualifying Round, Semi-Final and the Grand Final. Participants in teams of three will be put through a series of challenging tests, quizzes and a presentation in the Grand Final. ACCA's CFO Challenge will be a realistic test of students' understandings of the key areas of business and finance.
ACCA's CFO Challenge starts in December 2008 with the Qualifying Round which comprises of a written test. Following this, six successful teams will be invited to the Semi-Final where they will participate in a quiz.
The top three teams from the Semi-Final will make it to the Grand Final where the successful finalists, in addition to a quiz, will also need to give a presentation based on a business case (scenarios provided by ACCA in advance) to a judging panel of high-profile CEOs. The business case studies will be a test of the students' understanding of accounting and finance concepts, strategic management skills and problem-solving and analysis abilities, and the best team will be chosen as the winning CFO team.
