Semi-Final
- The Semi-final will be on the 9th of January 2009 (Friday).
- The Semi-Final is expected to last for 90 minutes
- The Semi-final will be held in an auditorium and will be in form of a game show with live audience comprising of supporters and other invited guests
- Quiz Mechanism:
- The top 9 teams from the Qualifying Round will make it to the Semi-Final
- A draw will be conducted to divide the 9 teams to 3 groups of 3 teams each
- The Semi-Final will comprise of 3 identical rounds for each of the 3 groups. The winning team from each of the rounds will make it to the Grand Final
- At each round, the 3 teams will compete to answer a set of 6 questions. On the mark of the game host, the teams must race for their buzzers to compete for a chance to answer the question
- There will be a question from each of the following categories:
- Tell the Truth (Corporate Reporting)
- Invest or Divest? (Investment Analysis, Tax)
- What does the Auditor want? (Audit, Internal Controls)
- Boardroom Dilemma (Ethics, Corporate Governance)
- Romancing the Bank (Financing, Capital Structure)
- Sky's the Limit (General knowledge, Catch-all)
- If a team cannot answer, or answers the question wrongly, it will be open to the other 2 teams
- If the wrong answer is given again, the remaining team will have a choice to answer the question
- 10 points will be awarded for each correct answer and a penalty of 5 points will apply for an incorrect answer. However, there will be no penalty if the last team chooses to pass the question
- If the last team passes the question or if the wrong answer is given again, the host will reveal the answer and skip the question
- In the event of a tie, tie-breakers will be used to break the tie
- A draw will be held for the 3 winning teams to determine the case studies they will present in the Grand Final.
- The case studies drawn will also determine the sequence of presentation
